AMY LEE-TAI is the author of the picture book A Place Where Sunflowers Grow. Amy was born in Queens, NY, and is of both Chinese and Japanese ancestry. The granddaughter of Issei artists, Matsusaburo and Hisako Hibi, Amy first learned about the internment through their paintings. After earning her Master's in Education from Harvard, she worked in schools as a Reading Specialist. Amy lives in Virginia with her husband and children where she writes children’s stories.
