LANE R. HIRABAYASHI is currently a member of UCLA's Asian American Studies Department, and the "The George & Sakaye Aratani Professor of the Japanese American Community, Internment, and Redress." This is the first and only endowed chair in the United States to focus specifically on these dimensions of the Japanese American experience. Lane has authored over thirty articles over his career. His books include Japanese American Resettlement Through the Lens (University Press of Colorado, 2009) and A Principled Stand: The Story of Hirabayashi v. United States (University of Washington Press, 2013).
