Chronicles of Ojii-Chan
By Jon Shirota; TotalRecall Publications, Inc., 2016
The famous World War II news correspondent, Ernie Pyle, was killed not on Okinawa as first believed, but on a tiny island called Ie Jima, a half-hour boat ride from Motobu, Okinawa. Ernie Pyle's remains are now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl, Oahu, Hawaii. But he was first buried on the tiny island of Ie Jima. No one ever claimed to have shot Ernie Pyle -- that is, until Ojii-chan's (grandpa's) mysterious chronicles were revealed.
